HISTORY OF ROBERT STONE ASSOCIATES

The origins of Robert Stone Associates lie with Lieut-Col Herbert Bateman who, as early as 1933, operated a Consulting Engineers practice in Norwich. The firm was taken over in 1974 by John Dossor and Partners, a national practice, having offices in York and Worcester. The office then operated successfully as one of the firm's regional offices providing services to clients in the East Anglian area. The office then changed name to Dossor East and has since 1993 operated as an Independent firm providing services to clients across the United Kingdom. In 2001 the firm changed its name to Robert Stone Associates.

The Practice is well accustomed to working to clients' stringent requirements with regard to providing economical engineering solutions to tight timescales and offers a fully flexible service from consideration of only limited aspects of a project to acting as Project Manager for complex schemes heading other professionals

The Practice can undertake responsibility for every phase of a project, from feasibility and economic appraisal, throughout outline and detail design, preparation of working drawings and tender documents, supervision of construction through to commissioning and hand over, together with project management and cost control.

Geographically the office covers the entire United Kingdom.

The practice is a member of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering and acts in accordance with its Conditions of Engagement.

The practice prides itself on providing clients with a fully professional service, irrespective of the size of commission, remembering always the importance of the project to the client, whether it be a small domestic extension or a major new build development.

The firm extensively uses modern technology for the preparation of its designs and drawings, which are all produced using AutoCAD software with full Emailing facilities being available.
